About

Ruth Halbert

I am a visual artist currently living in Denmark, Western Australia.

I use slow textile practices, local or found materials and the tactile and emotional qualities of cloth to explore both function and expression in two- and three-dimensional artworks. I also use installation and time-based work to extend the textile field for personal and political ends. By resisting the forces of binaries, boundaries and exclusions, I search for liminal transformative spaces of ambiguity and inclusion.
