Dear Prime Minister,
Today I was lucky to be in Narrm, Melbourne to participate in two great Australian traditions. The first was the Invasion Day Rally, where 40000+ people filled the central streets chanting 'Always was, always will be, Aboriginal land' and 'No pride in genocide.'
The second was the weekly vigil on the steps of the State Library of Victoria, held by a committed, disparate group of Australians, which calls for the end of offshore detention.
Our persistence and dedication will outlast all politicians, like you, who use fear and racism to cling to power. You ignore and belittle us but we will defeat your vile policies. For every one of us who stands up in public there are thousands behind the scenes who support us.
End detention of asylum seekers. Freedom and safety for all refugees and asylum seekers detained by Australia.
