Why we see no protests on Nauru

Dear Prime Minister,

Photos from 2015 show that the detainees on Nauru strongly protested against their detention by Australia. We do not see protests on Nauru anymore because the Nauruan government has brutally crushed all resistance. Detaining refugees indefinitely is bad enough. But sentencing them to a tiny island with a broken legal system where they are actively persecuted is Australia's unforgivable responsibility.
